2013: Looking Back

2013 has been productive for me in terms of career, financial and other aspects of my life. Together with these are the chain of misfortunesunfortunate events, too!

Let me start from January, where my sister and I were robbed from our apartment and I lost my Samsung Note (N700), my Samsung Netbook and my important cards/documents. Sad to say, these two important gadgets (phone and Netbook) were just acquired last November (netbook) and December (phone) on an installment basis. Until now, as of posting time, there was no update regarding the case.

On February, I was forced to pawn our Motorcycle and loan an additional cash so that I can have a new laptop and phone. For me, these two units are a must because aside from being a College Asst. Professor, I’m also a blogger so without these gadgets, life would be so difficult.

On March, my Pentax DSLR were stolen. Or was borrowed by a friend and was never returned. The matter was never resolved and to avoid further conflicts, I decided to let the issue go.

On April, the LCD of my laptop had a cracked that I can’t remember what caused it.

On May, my “better half” stole my ATM and withdraw “some cash” which was intended for some important things. He simply spent it in a drinking spree with friends. Also, later this month, one of my husband’s friends, visited him at house and eventually stole some of my important cards, including the original OR/CR of our motorcycle. It was not recovered.

On June, my mother-in-law was diagnosed to have liver cirrhosis and was in and out of hospital after that.

On July, I had a not-so-good experience during the convention at Boracay, which I blogged here:

On August, my husband and I had a terrible fight that may have ended into a separation had my mother did not meddle.

On September, my mother-in-law died and again.

On October, I have been absent from my work every now and then because I have to attend to the needs of my mother-in-law for er burial, and this means, financial constraint.

On November, my daughter, accidentally broke the LCD of my laptop and the only remedy is to buy a new LCD. Also, I experienced a “one-of-a-kind experience” together with the students during the convention at Baguio.

On December, I have to face several serious issues and gladly, most may have been resolved, as they seem.

Despite this, various blessings have also come their way to rescue me… It’s just that, it seemed like the 3rd Law of Newton, “where every action, has an equal but opposite reaction”. Yes, every blessing that comes, another unfortunate event will also be on its way.

Well, I just hope that this year will end with a “bang” just like what my horoscope has said… I just wish that this “bang” will be on the positive side…

Despite all these things that happened to me this year, I managed to keep my faith to the Lord and He never left me, in return.
