PRC License Renewal @ SM City

Yesterday afternoon I went to SM City Iloilo to renew my PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) license at the mall’s business center. Actually, I don’t know the exact location of PRC “extension” inside SM City, so I just asked the guard and he politely gave me the direction.

PRC online renewal system of license and other government transactions can be made at the Business Center, Ground Floor of SM City Iloilo. It’s in front of Our Home store. SM City Business Center is just a small area and when you make government transactions it’s like paying your bills at SM! Now, this is a good step from the PRC in order to serve the professional better and spare us from standing and waiting in line for hours!

Anyway, although I was not able to renew my license because the system was already offline (as it was around 5 in the afternoon), I was not pissed off because the one who attended to my queries was very courteous and smiling. I asked her about the requirements to renew my license and she said that all I need was the expired PRC card and a passport size photo (wearing a collared-dress). She also added that when taking the picture, the hair should be tucked behind the ears and that no accessories must be present (earrings, necklace, etc.).

I have also learned that it will only take around 7 – 10 days to get my renewed license and for unexpected reasons, it can take up to 20 days, Now, that’s a lot better as compared to waiting for my license for 9 months! The fees are still the same, although there is an additional P50.00 for the facilitation fee as charged by the mall.

The renewal fees are:

  • P450 for three years
  • additional of P150/year if the license is already expired
  • or P30/month of expired license

I hope there’s also online renewal of PRC license at SM City Bacolod, but sad to say, according to the attendant, there’s none. (sigh).

Now, if I’m going to rate the PRC, I can give them a thumb (not thumbs because I haven’t experienced the full online service yet) up. But, I’m also pleased that they now haveĀ Online Application System for those who will take the board exam.
