Lately, I became a regular at Dunkin Donuts store. I don’t exactly know why, but I just realized how yummy their donuts are.

Since today is 2010 National Donut Day, I know more and more people, who love donuts, especially from Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts, love to hear this good news, as these two famous donut vendors are giving away free donuts today!

Today (Friday, June 4), is National Donut Day, and free doughnuts are available across the country.

Dunkin’ Donuts is offering a free doughnut with any beverage purchase at any location nationwide. Find your nearest Dunkin’ Donuts by clicking here.

Krispy Kreme has also joined in, and they’re offering a free doughnut regardless of whether you buy anything else at participating locations across the country. The Chicago area locations participating in the promotion are at 412 E. Devon Ave. in Elk Grove Village, and 14747 S. Cicero Ave. in Midlothian.

National Donut Day is always celebrated on the first Friday in June. It dates back to 1917, when Salvation Army volunteers made doughnuts for soldiers serving in France during World War I, according to LaMar’s Donuts, a chain in the South, West and Plains states that is also participating.
