Now I wish I am at Minnesota! Today, Monday, March 1, Minnesota consumers can apply for a rebate from the appliance they have bought under the Minnesota Trade-in & Save Appliance Rebate Program.

From the $5 Million federal stimulus fund, the Minnesota rebate system is set to benefit more or less 25, 000 consumers.

Appliances eligible for a rebate and rebate amounts are as follows:

• clothes washers for $200
• dishwashers  for $150
• freezers for $100 with purchase and proof that their old unit has been taken off the grid; $50 for purchase only
• refrigerators for $200 with purchase and proof that their old unit has been off the grid; $100 for purchase only
