Love and "The Rose"

This is about a song entitled “The Rose” sung by Westlife. I become an avid fan of them just recently and I really enjoy listening to their songs over and over again. I love the messages of their song and two of my favorites are this one and “Flying Without Wings”.

I want to share the lyrics of this song because I believe this to be true; assimilating the flower, rose, to love.

THE ROSE

by Westlife

Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you its only seed.

It’s the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken
who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun’s love
in the spring
becomes the rose.

When we love, we sometimes get hurt, but if true love comes the happiness that we felt can never be explained. We do things we never expected we could; and that’s in the name of LOVE.
