Hitting Two Birds with a Single Stone

Today, a new visitor came across my other blog, Radiology 101, and it’s been my practice to return the favor. So I visited his blog. By the way his user name is FreshRevision.

When I visited his site, I immediately noticed the title of his post, Top 5 Reasons for Why Blogs Fail, and as a newbie in blogging, I thought reading the post will benefit me. Note that I don’t care if the post is sort of lengthy, I, for once, also do the same. Most of my posts from my original blog are lengthy, too.

Back to the post I was reading, it opened my eyes to the truth that monetizing my blog can not just happen overnight. To be honest, this was my first intention when I started blogging until today when I read Vlad’s (FreshRevision’s real name, I guess) post. It struck me that I have to be patient and concentrate more on posting quality articles/posts (which I am already doing before hand) and reduce the number of ads on my site as of the moment.

After reading, I felt compelled to post a comment. Here’s my original comment to the post and is waiting for moderation.

Sometimes I feel like changing the topic of my blog because I think people are not interested on the current topic.Your post is very helpful…As a newbie in blogging, I’m glad I have come across your site as I gain useful information that I must always bear in mind – and that is to be patient. Thanks and Cheers!

After posting a comment, I surf his blog and found out that it was a very new blog and I admired the author because he already knows the factors that may cause a blog’s failure, but when I came across the About Me section, I immediately know why he has all these knowledge on internet business and stuff.

The blog looks simple but neatly organized. If he keeps on posting topics related to his first post, it would be very useful to all bloggers (not just for newbies alone). The presentation of post is also well-thought-of and that picture was appropriate for the title.

Let me quote the last paragraph of his profile:

I am an avid believer of learning and I believe that if you want to become part of the 5% that are successful online, you constantly need to learn and sharpen your skills…

I agree with him because I also believe that Learning is a life-long process and it never stops unless one refuses to.

On the other hand, when I surfed the BC pages, a discussion title caught my attention. It says “Review My Blog and Win $50 Via Paypal. Of course, who wouldn’t be interested, right? Note that this was posted by FreshRevision.

So I thought of hitting two birds with a single stone; and here I am now, posting to share a helpful post (which may come in handy) that I have read and at the same time, doing some sort of a blog review ( I hope this counts…LOL)

Whether this will benefit me or not, I still want to share his post to my readers…
